If you are looking for a little taste of authentic Italy, this is the place. A beautiful restaurant that looked so much like one of our favorite restaurants in Tuscany and the food and service did not disappoint.
A great wine list with one of our favorites from Italy. And a very attentive server who always made sure our glasses were full. We started with the burrata appetizer, so delicious and buttery and creamy with the right amount of prosciutto and arugula to compliment it.
Dinner was their filet and I have not had that good of a steak in I cannot remember how long! Prepared and seasoned perfectly!
Dessert was affogato cafe and cremé caramel- to.die.for! Atmosphere was cozy and romantic but not too fancy at all. Definitely coming here again when I am in town!! -

Came here on a Thursday night. La Briciola is good for the area. It's a good choice if you're craving Italian and around. If you want better Italian food, North Beach is a better option.
Location: It's right by the underpass on 3rd street and I80.
Ambience/interior: Dim, romantic. Tables have the standard white cloth.
Service: SLOW. They do it Italy style which takes 20-30 minutes per dish and in between dishes. Don't come if you're looking for a quick meal. We weren't in a rush so we enjoyed the wait. The waiter refilled our wine and water glasses without prompting. The service is a bit cold, they do everything correctly but not particularly friendly.
Food:
- Complimentary bread with minced olives and olive oil dipping sauce: Yummy. The bread was warm and the dip was good!
- Burrata: ($17): Burrata, prosciutto, arugula. Tasty but pricey for what it is. Can't really go wrong with this combination. 4.5 stars.
- Lasagna Di Mare ($22): Seafood lasagna with bechamel sauce. The lasagna was overcooked, it was overly soft but flavors were good. Big portions! 3.5 stars.
- Tagliolini di mare ($24): Seafood tagliolini. Pasta was yummy and tasted like it was freshly made. Though there were a lot of pasta that were stuck together, making some bites gummy. The sauce was a bit thin so it didn't coat the pasta enough. 4 stars.
One issue we had was that they started rolling out their garbage bins through the restaurant 30 minutes before closing. It would've been nice if they waited until the restaurant officially closed to doclean up. It made us feel rushed and we decided on no dessert. -

I wasn't a big fan of La Bricola.
The restaurant was empty on a Monday evening and they brought us free bruschetta in addition to the complimentary bread and olive oil for dipping, as an apology for the time it took to prep our meals (even though it didn't seem long at all.)
I ordered the pesto gnocchi and felt like it wasn't anything special. Sure, it was okay, but I felt like I could have prepped it myself and been just as good. It was a little bland.
In addition, the portions are small in comparison to the heaping portions you typically receive at an Italian restaurant, but still priced pretty high for what you get.
I would give them another shot, as the service was great and friendly, but the menu item I chose just wasn't anything special. -

WONDERFUL restaurant. Exquisite food, large portions, very friendly.
No full bar, but reasonable prices and extensive wine list.
The seafood lasagna was interesting. The crostini were more like polenta cakes and delicious. Burrata and prosciutto terrific.
I went with my mom and close friend who came to support me at my Alcatraz Shakfest swim for BCEFA. It was a 5 to 10 minute walk from Hotel Intercontinental.
Highly recommend. A bit off the beaten path in the neighborhood rapidly gentrifying (SoMa, or South of Market). -

Fake birthdays still deserve a nice meal I suppose.
Prior to making reservations, my friend asks me if im lactose intolerant -- I recently self-diagnosed myself after having major bloating from drinking milk every morning. Fvck it. No dude, I'm not lactose intolerant. I love cheese and carbs so Italian was a good choice.
Beef Lasagna - emphasis on Da Beef. We noticed they had shrimp lasagna and as much as we were slightly intrigued, it didn't feel right. I would never cheat on beef for skrimps. The lasagna lacked flavor, drenched with too much sauce, and the beef tasted lamby
Seabass Ravioli - I love seabass and I've never had a fish filled ravioli before. I think there was total maybe 7 pieces which is nothing for a growing boy like me. What was more disappointing were the flavors. It was bland and the fish didn't taste like seabass giving us the impression that they could've used any type of fish
Both dishes came out looking alike; a dish of pasta swimming in the same color pool of boring sauce. I was disappointed with the food however, service was great.
